Speculation: HC Doug MacLean suggested that Jake Gardiner is a great fit for VGK

Gardiner isn't having the greatest season so far.

Not offensively but he's been a lot less mistake prone. I think his performance in Game 7 taught him a few lessons.

Looking at his usage in Toronto, he's not for sale.

The Oilers would be interested if he were available though.

Jake Gardiner makes sense in Montreal as a UFA this summer. Vegas makes very little considering who they currently have signed.
