Sign Iginla while trading away Versteeg? that makes no sense. That would be stupid.

Versteeg is a good guy and still liked by the team. You won't get much better players for 2.2 a year

True. Knee jerk reaction.

For whatever reason people cant stop talking about Steeger, as we all remember the famous "They call him Versteeg" thread when he came in as a rookie which which got up in the 100's of pages of material and now that he is back all Hawks fans spend their energy on whether negative or positive whatever the guy does it seems to be always news.

iginla right now is nothing like hossa was when we signed him(or now for that matter). He's a semi-washed up RW who will probably end up getting paid more than he's worth.

He ended up getting paid more than he was worth this past year, so yeah, he probably will again.

Well at 1.8 mill he was actually UNDERpaid. Still finished with 30 goals, 60 points in regular season and has been a top ten right winger (at least in points) this playoffs through 2 rounds.

He accounted for 6mil against the cap, not 1.8.

And now, the Bruins lose 4.5mil next year because they had him.
He was greatly overpaid.

Ahh was just looking at salary and not the bonuses. In that case, it was a bad deal and feels like a move made by a team that thought their window closed in 2014.
