Not to threadjack this thread (where nobody seems to recall Kovalev's 5 minute shift for some reason) but what about guys who storm off the ice and don't come back? Most famously, Patrick Roy.

Came here to ask about a player who once had a 5 minute shift. I couldn't for the life of me figure out who it was

Lehterä&Laine did this a lot in juniors.

Laine's most shifts are pretty long even still, he stays on ice sometimes 10-20 seconds after his line changed.

In some game, he had already a minute more playtime over Scheifele after 1st period just from his extended shifts.

I'm pretty sure it's Kovalev. It's been mentioned once or twice in this thread. Learn to read ffs.
