Regarding #16: Clarke was asked about a year ago and he said “I think that it’s retired, and it’s an honor, but I have no problems if they wanted someone else to wear it. And I think it should be worn.”

Regarding #12: After Tim Kerr left the team, Greg Paslawski, Patrik Juhlin and someone else wore it in consecutive years.

wow, hadn't realized how many big names wore the #12. and three huge names wore it for a decade a piece. i personally feel like it shouldn't be worn anymore but if you're gonna retire the number you have to do it in honor of someone and it may just end up feeling like a snub to another great flyers player.
