And Bernie's vaunted goaltending wouldn't have been enough without Clarke's talent. At his peak arguably the 2nd best player in the league after Orr. One of the best playmakers the game has ever seen. Centered a dominate line with Barber and Leach. One of the best penalty killers ever, one of the best defensive forwards ever. If you want to hate on him for his management career fine, but his playing career was absolutely positively HoF worthy and he's still the franchise all-time leading scorer.
