The Pens lack the personnel/mix of personnel to pull it off.

That's probably true, but that's why he was hired, and if he's incapable of coaching successfully without the right personnel because his system is that specific, he's useless and should be let go.

I don't care how well his book reads, it's not gonna be easy to get the right players in just one more off-season.

Right? Even when he was at his peak that deke around the defender only worked so many times, why not try a shot through a screen for once? How many times is he going to fail at the deke when it's so easy to just body up on him when he's the only attacker?
