congrats bulldogs. never mind the trolls. real hockey fans have nothing but respect for the season your team had.

saint john is a prime example of why the "host" city format is garbage. entering the tournament through the "back door" and winning is about as unimpressive as their early playoff exit imo.

they should change the format to be the 2 finalist teams from each league for a 6 team tourney. putting a healthy well-rested team against 3 teams that have just been through 2 months of war is pathetic.

Rest is something your team in Barrie should be very familiar with after severely underachieving and flaming out in the first round to Mississauga… get out of here.


What a terrible analysis. I’m pretty sure Hamilton’s trades were worth it. League champions and came atop all the true champions at the tournament.

What are you talking about, you trade away a ton with the ultimate goal to win the mem cup and anything else can be considered a failure. They ended up 3rd in round robin, were lucky to win the semi and Saint John came out on atop of it all.

You lost so stop whining that Saint John were the host team and do not deserve the Cup because of the layoff they had. They were 15-0 at the end of the season and have a very capable coach who pushes the right buttons.

Unfortunate but these things happen. Hats off you had one of the best teams in the country.
