Doughty wasn't expecting Muzzin to turn it over.

Hall is coming down the middle of the two, Doughty is too close to Muzzin to provide a passing option, so Muzzin tries to turn back to his left and create space but gets stripped. If Doughty is backed off by a couple feet the giveaway likely never happens. It's definitely more on Muzzin for losing the puck, but both guys misplayed this.

No, it's not at all, I described exactly what happened. If Doughty is backed off from Muzzin by a couple feet, it gives Muzzin an outlet pass. Muzzin can't pass a couple feet to Doughty as Hall will be right on him and it will handcuff Doughty, so Muzzin tries to cut back and create a gap to look for other options. It's not basic defense, but it's pretty close.

You must get excited really Easily, all muzzin needed to do is swing the puck away, not handle it under pressure. Pretty basic.
