Wonder if we use a compliance buyout? At first glance wouldn't make much sense to use one of our two CBOs because its just gonna be 667K for two years. If poile goes ahead and uses the compliance buyout then you would have to think there is a lot of spending planned. If its regular buyout then this is simply to save a little cash and to give skillsy a chance to sign somewhere else

The thread on the FA board is tagged "confirmed compliance buy out", but the source used is only saying he was placed on waivers likely for the purposes of a buy out. They also noted how all players waived yesterday cleared, so SK is gone from the NHL.

We'll await confirmation, but I can't imagine any reason why it would be a regular buy out.

We'll have to wait to see what the league says about a termination of contract. That may take some time with all of the transactions taking place.
