I thought he already had retired.

Good for him. He had a pretty good career.

@JohnLuTSNMtl: Ex- #Habs Hal Gill, aka Skillsie, officially announces his retirement. One of the NHL's genuine good guys and a superb, funny interviewer

When I think of Hal Gill I think of the great job he did during the 2010 playoffs and how he took Subban under his wing in 2010-11.

Skillsie played a huge role in the development of PK, the guy took him under his wing and helped him become the dman he is today.

For that I am ever grateful.

Also fire JJ and bring in Hal.

Gill was the most average effective player I've seen. Dude was a terrible skater but adapted his game so well and was a rock in the playoffs. PK beast too. Enjoy the new life Hal!

As for Dmen coaching, I think Robinson was let go by the Sharks. He needs to come back home.

Now come coach our defense

I always envisioned him ending up in coaching. He would be great to have back, he could be the link between the players and coaching staff.

At 1:38

On a side note: While he frustrated me at times, Jaroslav Spacek always brought it for the Habs TV videos.

My lasting memory of gill is laying down low like a canoe during 5 on 3s... And it worked.

That, and driving Crosby bat**** crazy in 2010.
