Former player with 600+ NHL games as 3rd or 4th lines and a decade in the OHL coaching. Not sure how good of a coach he is as I have never heard his name mentioned with NHL teams as a candidate.

Burrows currently has no contract, so while he is not gone, he is not really there either. However, he should get a contract eventually :

OHL head coaches move up to AHL head coaches and sometimes NHL assistant coaches but rarely do they move to an NHL head coaching position without having coached a single second in the pro game.

If I read the post earlier this morning correctly it was that he will be an assistant coach in Laval and not for the NHL, If i read the headline wrong then yeah you are correct on what you are saying.
