The other one is over 1,000 posts.

Umberger and a 4th for Hartnell.

Bergevin sleeping, or just doesn't want ******, or close to ****** contracts ?

Considering it's June 23rd and the draft/free agency hasn't even happened yet, maybe we should practice a little patience?

Brodziak is available, he plays really tough defensive minutes for Minny. He's a really underrated player, it would be amazing if we could get him for cheap.

I'm glad Bergevin stayed away from the Umberger potential suck fest. I'm a little surprised Hextall dealt Hartnell that fast for that little though.

From my estimations, we should have around 6.5-7M to spend on 3 guys on the UFA market (1 scorer, 1 enforcer and 1 depth d-man) when all signings are said and done, taking for granted we sign Gionta around 3.5M, Eller around 2.5M, Weaver around 1.5M, and Subban around 8M.

Gionta will probably get $4 million plus on a one year deal from the Habs, so don't hold your breath on him taking a 50% paycut.

I do expect the Habs to push hard for a top 6 winger however either through trade or UFA. Names like E. Kane, Iginla and even Marleau might be linked to the Habs in coming days (as usual).

The hockey rumour site which shall remain nameless is supposedly claiming the Habs are pursuing Byfuglien aggressively FWIW.

Because of the glaring hole on the 2nd line...?

Now that Markov is signed I have less issues with trading Gorges. For who though I don't know, Troy Brower?

here's some defenceman that have a cap hit similar as Gorges or Emelin:

Ed Jovanovski, Tim Gleason, Eric Brewer, Marek Zidlicky, Anton Volchenkov, Jason Garrison, Sergei Gonchar, Alex Goligoski, Lubomir Vinosvksy

I really dont think their contract are really handicapping

People hating on Emelin because the coaching staff is too dumb to play him on his natural side?

He lose at least 25% efficiency on the right side and cant pivot properly on the outside.

Gorges was such a stud in last year playoff... not sure I want to move him, and his cap hit isnt that bad for a #4 dman IMO

Don't care about his cap hit, it's more than ok, which is why I think we could flip him for some offensive help. It's a good contract, decent dman, therefor good value and we can replace him with either Beaulieu or Tinordi.

They wouldn't be as good to begin, but you have to start somewhere, otherwise they'll never go anywhere and their worth will always be low.

The guy has a full NTC, think again...

Oh dear.... The hockey iq on that guy is terrible, he plays decent against Boston but against everyone else he is terrible. I hope they get him to waive his ntc then trade himbecause Stralman or Niskanen would look pretty damn good beside Markov.
