Too bad. Was hoping he'd be our reason to make some moves but moving out DD or Eller for help elsewhere and played that 3rd line C

From a certain point of view, this is good news. He would have represented a question mark on small ice surfaces no matter how good he is on the big ice, and that should force Bergevin to consider more proven options.

If Bergevin does nothing this summer and we start off next year the same way we played this season, he'll be gone and no other team will sign him as a GM ever again.

I would expect the situation to be all about money. For a player that didn't seem to want to come over to finally say he wants to when things haven't been going so well with Russia's economy and the value of their dollar. For the Habs they should be well aware by now they need to bring in offensive talent if they have any hopes for a cup any time soon. Getting a skilled playmaking center that has put up good numbers in the KHL and only cost money would have been a decent start but if said player wants too much money it can't be done since they have to lock up Galchenyuk before next summer and then Price the following year.

What!? A player used an offer from the Habs to get a better deal!? Unbelievable!!!

So what you're saying is no other teams made this guy an offer?? Habs were the absolute only team persuing this guy, not a single GM in the NHL approached his agent, it was Bergevin and only Bergevin??

What I'm saying is the Habs were the first team on him, the most interested and Berevin stayed in Russia after the WC to try to get him to leave and the Habs were by ALL accounts the team with the hardest push on him. That's what I'm saying.

What are you saying?

might as well close this down for now, since it will end up just mindless bashing of management. If there's any updates we can reopen this thread.
