you turn a contender team into a finalist and some AV fans are crying they are getting robbed ? what do AV fans want, the ****ing moon every time there is a trade ?

You seem pissed that a controlled cap team doesn't accept your deal. I would much rather roll on Grubs/Francouz before dealing Byram and a 1st for a 10.5M$ goalie. Maybe if Grubauer is terrible through the season and Francouz isn't doing any better I would like to explore the market for a goalie. If we add Price it would be hard to fit Landeskog, Mackinnon, Makar and Rantanen when they are up for a new contract. What I find funny about goalies is how people said Price was so overrated and overpaid around here after that terrible 2017-2018 season and now he is back to being the best goalie in the world according to a certain poster in this thread

AVs have the 5th best odds (tied with BOS & TOR) to win the Cup. STL being cup champs 6th. HABs are tied for 23rd. Doubt that Price would significantly change the odds. There is no need to mortgage their future for an aging player with a horrendous contract.

Adding Price would work for like 2-3 seasons, but when big resigning's need to happen (mainly from 2021 onwards), it's just not worth it for the Avs to destroy their cap structure.

• 2020: Jost, Burakovsky, Francouz
• 2021: Landeskog, Makar, Timmins, Grubauer
• 2022: Byram, Kaut, Bowers
• 2023: Mackinnon, Newhook, Donskoi, Compher

I don't care that you accept it or not, it's plain dumb to say no to an other Roy just because you like your pet prospect, classic HF

Interesting idea. I've mostly thought that if Zadorov were to get traded it would be in a package (with a pick/prospect) for a top 6 forward, but perhaps the smart move might be to acquire a good prospect who can join the team on an ELC around the time that Mackinnon resigns his deal.

That would ensure that the player acquired would be exempt from the Expansion Draft first of all. And secondly, most of our top prospects will already be off their ELC's by 2023 (i.e. Makar, Byram, Timmins, Newhook, Jost, Kaut, etc), so adding a young forward who can help the team on an ELC from 2023 onwards would be really important in order to maintain strong depth.

Curious to see what Montreal fans think of your Suzuki for Zadorov suggestion.

What happened to the Price retention?

Girard is on a reasonable deal and Grub is signed short term. AVs cannot fit him under their Cap Structure long term which eliminates any chance for a deal.

Avs aren't interested in Price or his contract and certainly not in a package containing Byram.

The upgrade from Grubauer to Price isn't worth a top-pairing defenseman and a 1st, unless there's some huge retention of Price.

It would also be a REALLY bad look for Sakic if he traded a young player who just committed his long-term future to Colorado at a very team-friendly AAV. For that reason alone this suggestion is never going to happen.
