O hope that this team Sweden is stripped of swedish citizenship forever. Relegation, here we come!!!!

On paper this team should never lose against Norway, it's not like this is the worst on paper team Sweden has ever sent. On the ice though it's a different matter, if they continue to underperform we will end up relegation rounds.

Sadly the young guys where very dissapointing too, I am the first one to call for old farts to be replaced by youngsters, but when the kids play like this they have no place on a national team. Tedenby-Backlund-Silfverberg was awful and I wonder what happend to OEL in NA, since he seem to be a worse player now than a year ago. I truly believed that the kids would step up a notch given the chance to play in the WC, well it's not too late.

I understand the frisutration after Norway's loss, but why not show some faith in the team? It was just 1 game, and actually we pretty much lost to ourselves, with all credit to Norway.

Relegation round?:shakehead

No need to dramatize even with sarcasm. When was the last time Sweden played in the relegation round? The worst you could come to would be 12th spot after the Championship is over.

However Austrians are tricky. Underestimating them costs a lot. They won over Latvia in a exhibition game. But so did Sweden...

I actually like this team. Lot's of talented young players, they blew the game against Norway but worse things have happend. I expect this team to compete for medals.

I had OEL pegged as a future superstar two years ago, but he looks much worse now than he did a year ago....or heck, two years ago. What the feck did Phoenix do to him?

Good to see Weinhandl in goal, not that he would be better than Penker, but we'll see who to start against Norway. It's not like Penker played out of his mind vs. USA. :snide:

As for today's game, well i expect an aggressive swedish team after the loss, a hattrick by Loui and a beating in the range of 5-1 to 8-2. :(

Is Austria's Weinhandl related to Sweden's Mattias Weinhandl (who is not in this tournament)?

Or is it a pretty common surname?
