In London right now, doing a Stamford Bridge stadium tour in 20 minutes before hitting the pubs for today's triple header. Absolutely buzzing for this match.
Well, taken out of context, it makes him look stupid. In context, he just says that he doesn't care about that. He doesn't think about replacing his guys and that's all.
They have only had five knockout games so far. One straight loss (0-1 vs Yugoslavia in 1968), three losses on penalties (vs Germany in 1996, vs Portugal in 2004, vs Italy in 2012), one win (on penalties, vs Spain in 1996). Keep in mind that prior to 1996 only eight teams made the final stage of the Euros and prior to 1980 only four. The knockout stage was reserved for the top 4 teams up until 96 and England only made that cut in 1968.
That makes more sense. For some reason I kept thinking that they have only won 1 game in the group stages. I think England wins, 2-1.
I'd expect Bale to have a good game, probably going to see a couple yellows from the England backline harassing him.
