Just wanted to comment, as I watched the game start to finish. The first period Russia was atrocious, their defence once again could not clear anything to save a goal, and anything they sort of attempted to clear was through the center and got picked off for bad turn overs.
The point I'm making, is if it was against a stronger team, the score after the first would have been 4-6 against Russia, and they likely would have just got frustrated, taken more penalties, and lost. They got it together in the second, without big results, and just exploded for goals in the 3rd, where seemingly everything was going in.
Once again, big score, but far from a great effort.
