Vatanen should get an assist then... So it must have been Donskoi who took the pointshot.

The pointshot was from Vatanen (who got the puck from Armia). Donskoi was in front of the goal.

And now it's 0-6. The fourth line scores. Virkkunen assisted by his wingers.

It's kind of funny that the Finns weren't considered a real contender pre-tournament. Compared to the past few years that have held cream of the crop from junior levels, this team is full of regulars from the Finnish Elite, and it shows.

I think the IIHF web people are a bit confused. The game summary correctly lists Donskoi as having scored the goal, assisted by Armia and Pulkkinen, without Vatanen getting any credit for an assist.

Ok, but why does Pulkkinen have an assist for that goal? :D

Vatanen the captain doesn't want to be seen as a selfish guy and refuces to say anything to the referees. And anyway Pulkkinen passed to Armia, so it's not that wrong anyway.

Finland giving a period in net for Aittokallio.

Very reasonable. Ortio gets to rest, Aittokallio gets a chance to play after a while and to take the cynical view, if the Slovakians run the goalie or sg like that the loss is not as bad.

Donskoi is very similar to Evgeny Kuznetsov. Also reminds me of Pavel Datsyuk in the offensive zone.

REALLY skilled kid!

If we need to start changing lines in the playoffs, Donskoi could easily take Pakarinen's place alongside Haula and Pulkkinen.

Certainly he could, but the Kärpät line has be so good that I would not go breaking it.

Very impressed by Donskoi, Panthers must be very satisfied with his play so far.

Maybe Armia should change with Pakarinen, he doesnt play as he can. We must get out more of his skills!

Nice that Määttä had some shifts :)

Damn a post by Armia in the final minutes of the game.

Well a good win though.
