I think I'd rather have McMichael or Pelletier than Thomson. We really need to stock our cupboard full of more forwards.

I definitely see where you're coming from. I'm a fan of Thomson's game and the way I saw it, he either makes someone else expendable or he's a valuable trade chip years down the line if your blueline gets too crowded.

I'm not sure the Jets traded back into the first round just to pick another winger. Obviously BPA and all that, but I'd think they take a D or C over a winger.

The Caps are not passing up on Brink for Rees.
Late in the in the first is always a crapshoot, I know Rees has dealt with some durability issues but I think he's a solid get there. With Brink, I question if his skating can make up for his lack of size.

Fair enough. I recall Lavoie being listed as a C/W even though he played mostly wing in junior but my thoughts were focused on what I believe was the BPA there.

If this is how it plays out for LA, pretty sure I wouldn't be the only one disappointed. Not saying you're wrong and I can see it happening. Just would be disappointed in taking a G at 22. Would rather they move the pick if that's the case.

I looked at a winger like Hoglander or Brink here but I felt that the value that Knight brings at this point of the draft was enough to warrant a selection. I've never been big on selecting goalies in the first round myself so I'd understand the disappointment though.

Devils biggest need is D. They aren't picking Yegor Afanasyev and passing up Tobias Bjornfot, Kaedan Korczak, or Vladislav Kolyachonok.

I agree, also think Knight gets considered if he is there at 22. Hoping he goes higher. I hope he turns into a huge stud if LA takes him tho.
