Playing a lot of 3rd pairing D and helping out Chelios who has been BRUTAL.

He hasn't looked bad. Last night he made a couple good rushes out of the defensive end into the offensive zone. It's just kind of a log jam at defense right now.

At least I got to see my first regular season victory at LCA. I was 0-1-2-2 before last night. Hope to make it 2 wins in a row next Tuesday night vs Tampa Bay.

How has Saarijarvi looked?

He was impressive in training camp for me.

Struggling this season here in GR. Starting to get on the score sheet more offensively, but he has struggled more defensively this season compared to last season. Paired with Chelios since McIlrath injury which could be part of the problem, but at times he seems to be caught up ice a lot to where he can not get back to his defensive position. Point on the power play, he seems hesitant in deciding whether to shoot the puck, pass it to the other point man, or pass it along the boards.

Holland and Blashill has plenty to do with Grand Rapids. When a Wings player gets hurt and if that player is placed on short/long term IR, they contact Ryan Martin (Griffins GM man) & Ben Simon (head coach) to find out which player(s) is needed to fill in the role that the injured player in Detroit is left to fill.

When the TDL comes around, Holland also determines who gets moved and who stays for the Wings & Griffins and who they want in return if a deal(s) is made and it could effect both teams.

When the season comes to the end for both teams, Holland makes the final decision as to who he decides to keep and who not to keep in the Wings organization for the upcoming season.

GREAT work by Zadina on the power play, and Elson cleans up his rebound to give the Griffs a 3-0 lead.

I know Elson's not really a prospect, but he's fun to watch.

That was an absolute rocket by Zadina that Megan tipped in. After 5 points in his first 10 games, he's got 9 points in the next 10 games + 2 periods.

Also - Zadina's agent Darren Ferris was on Craig Custance's podcast today and talked about Zadina a little bit. It was interesting, Ferris had a comment saying that going to World Juniors from the AHL is a step down, and that he wasn't sure if Filip will be going or not.

After a nearly an 1/2 hour delay to the start of the game due to the ice not freezing at the near boards on the San Antonio blue line, game finally got started. Griffins score 3 pp goals (had 9 total this season prior to tonight's game). PK units killed off all 7 tries, including a big 5 on 3 late in the 3rd. Hope they have enough energy for tomorrow night's game vs Texas Stars. It was not pretty at times, but they pulled off a victory none the less.

One of his biggest bugaboos last season was that he'd get beat badly on zone entries. I haven't seen that happen this year. He looks a lot more sound in the defensive end/stronger.

Looked pretty good. Skated well. Got a lucky break on his assist as his pass got by our d-men to the other side to his point man. On the goal he scored, he blew by everybody and faked Rybar going high and slid it 5 hole into the net. Seems like a good Blues prospect. They play the Griffins again next Wednesday.
