As I’ve mentioned before, I’ll be satisfied with solid effort from our Regulars and development from our youngsters


No use stressing about a Playoff spot

It‘s most likely not going to happen

So let’s play spoiler and rip the hearts out of some contenders

Knock down who we can

Enjoy watching our beauties score

Don’t worry about the occasional , smelly play from our prospects as they find their way

And accept we’re probably seeing the Golf Course in May

And that’s OK, because I believe in our current Management Team & Coaching Staff to make a better future

Petey is our best centre, but his wrist injury prevents him from taking face offs and defending down low. I think we see him on the wing until he can heal up over the summer.

IMO, keys to victory in this game and down the stretch is Boeser and Garland bumping their slumps. Miller, Horvat and Petey have taken turns sharing the load, and we’ve gotten some supporting goals here and there - but Garland and Boeser are two guys who need to get off the schneid.

Playoffs are extremely distant at this point, but they really need to win all 3 games against Vegas.

Just think of the desperation Vegas has. They are only ONE point out of WC2 but both WC teams have games in hand.
They should be way more energized to win than the loooonnnnngggg shot Canuck players realize.
All the "cusp" players for the Canucks should be playing like it is their last games because for some they will be, so they are playing/auditioning for other teams and getting a contract for next year.

If Vegas can sweep the Canucks their odds go up dramatically to make the show.
If they get any injuries now they will actually get better because the closer to the end of the season the better their cap situation, players can come off LTIR.

Realistically the only thing winning does now is the same as 7 years ago, the team moves up one spot and loses the lottery. Not that it mattered, Benning blew it anyway.

The game should have some energy and emotion. Cusp/AHL players will be going pedal to the medal for jobs. That may be offset with players with term wanting out and not up to 100% effort all the time.

Demko is tiring, they have to be careful they don't get him injured again.

Hard to get too excited for these games now that the playoffs are out of reach. It may still interest some to see how some of our young core performs down the stretch, although what their performance means when the stakes aren't as high is debatable. Overall, another disappointing end to the year for this core and more meaningless games in April, which has consistently been the norm for this franchise for almost a decade. Tough times and big decisions ahead, with this team likely taking a further step back for the next 1-3 years before being able to compete again.
