The gap of skill between the injured players and replacements are totally the same.

As much as I love to see Canada with the lead, I would have preferred to see this game with Sweden having their top 3 centers in the lineup.

Come on. Without Bäckström we don't even have a scary power play. With him we could have played rope a dope and countered. Now we are just bent over and taking it.

Correct, but you refuse to acknowledge how pants ****tingly close you are to not being up 1-0 2-0. Botched chance after botched chance. Paul Statsny redirected a puck during that game that was a 1/4 of an inch of going in a wide open net. There was a Swede in this game that wiffed on a wide open net. I don't care how much possesion time is on each side, Canada always seems to have this forcefield around their goal. You honestly don't realize how lucky you are. Perhaps you should go back and watch the games again.

By that logic, how close was Canada to winning that game 5-0 and being up 7-0 in this game. Hell, Perry could have 3 goals already.

Sometimes teams miss. It happens.

This is the same **** some Boston fans were saying when they lost to the Hawks last year. Oh, Chicago was lucky, all the bounces went their way. Well guess what. When you control puck, and are generating a ton of chances, and are limiting chances against, you'll get luckier more often than not on both sides of the puck.

Canadas missing Stamkos and Tavares... 2 of the top 5 players in the world..... excuses are for losers.
They've got Art Ross winners as injury replacements though. You think any swede would complain about missing Sedin if we had replaced him with St Louis? If losing Zetterberg meant Duchene played more? Jimmie Ericsson, Marcus Johansson, Patrik Berglund, Marcus Kruger. That is not an Olympic gold winning center lineup.

Sweden will try to score now, and as a result Canada will score more. But you got to admit, everyone who has critises Lundqvist, he has been awesome and it would be 4-0 if it weren't for him.

Crosby about the lesson of the women's gold medal game

"we need to keep going after them"

That's it, we need that third goal, badly.

Kevin Dineen sighting on after 40 minutes.

The Canadian women's comeback SHOULD actually help the Men's team. They saw what happened if you stop playing for even a few minutes. Keep the pedal down. Don't stop until the final whistle!

Can't believe people are saying that the Swedes saying 'injuries' is an excuse.

It's the most valid one ever. Equivalent to us being down our whole 1st and 3rd lines really.
yes, they aren't deep enough to compensate, but on the other hand if neither team had injuries the gap would be even bigger than it is right now.

Stammer would have buried at least 3 that his replacements have missed this game alone.

so it is an excuse.

Sweden lost Bäckström which was basically the last hope to bring some offense to this team. We simpy dont have the depth to lose our 3 best Centers and still compete with Canada. Silfverberg should never been invited and Landeskog, Berglund arent bringing anything. In general, the swedish team looks SO slow except the 4th line with Kruger, Nyqvist and Hagelin.

Lundqvist missing the push off when Crosby comes free... Oh well...

With the loss of Bäckström they should have replaced Karlsson with OEL and played Karlsson as forward. Karlsson is the only one with both speed and vision who can make break through plays.

All in all, Canada is leading deservedly.

And yet those who didn't make it on team Canada would be locks on team sweden. Depth, ever heard of it...?

You're still doing better either way but let's not pretend that our injuries doesn't affect us more than it affects you guys cause it clearly does.

Horrible game, Canada is just too good. Congrats on the Gold, well deserved!

Looks like Sweden playing Finland out there (where Canada = Sweden and Sweden = Finland).
