If Markstrom makes it to UFA then the Flames should certainly offer him a competitive contract.

Trading the rights for first crack at Markstrom is what I was hinting at. Janko's contract expires at the end of this season and requires extension. Gilles we aren't sure if he will even be qualified... a swap of rights might make sense.

I wouldn’t be able to justify paying Markstrom unless Rittich were moved and we roll with a cheaper backup.

That said, my first instinct is bring back Talbot or go with Khudobin or Greiss to platoon with Rittich.

are the goalies that intrigue me most, in that order. Talbot isn’t getting credit for how good he was this year IMO.
