You're being very optimistic for multiple players. I don't see that many hitting 50.

Too early for this for me.

Not really predictions, but more like hopes.

Frank and Stewart both hit 30g.

Well its time for quit a few of them to finally break out...Not sure that 5 of them hitting 50 is that far out of the way but who knows. This team does not have anyone that is going to come close to a PPG but I do see the talent for about 4 or 5 to hit 50 points.

Tarasenko.

I think it's too soon to be counting on 30 from him. I'll hope for 20+.

Stewart though, 30 is possible.

I want to see some semblance of a lineup first. If they actually do move Backes to the wing, I could see him leading the team in scoring again.

this is pretty tough. i started and realized how easy it would be to attribute 20 goals to every player in the top nine

It's easy to get carried away with the predictions like this and lord knows I've done my share of it in the past. I'm not naming names because quite honestly I don't care if Polak scores 50 goals next year, just ****ing score.

In my head this seems like a reasonable prediction.
Two players with 25g or above
Three players with 20 goals
Four players with 15 goals

That's 170 goals for nine players too much, too little? Tack on about 45 goals split between the D corps, 4th line, and injury call ups, etc and the number sits at 215 at the low end. So if you add on a few goals here and there I think we can end up in the 225-230 range so round about 2.75 GF/G. I expect our GA/G to be in the neighborhood of 2.0 or quite possibly sub 2 like a couple years ago. I would really like to see this team smash that GA record this year.

0 assists for Berglund? That one jumped out at me, but everything else ok.

Just for fun, which one is most likely be the closest to actually happen? My guess would be PRV with 6g and 7a.

Paajarvi too low. I'm sick of you haters saying he's a scrub. 20 goals / 45 points.

Also I predict Backes gets 6 goals vs Detroit when the Blues host them next.

No one else but Backes gets points. The NHL will set a rule that only David Backes will be able to assist himself in goals.

David Backes 72g 139a

You may be asking, "But Bluesman, I know you said Backes can assist on his own goals but how does he end up with 139 assists and only 72 goals if no one else is getting points."

David Backes, that's how.

I'm not sure how serious some of you guys are, so I'm hesitant to respond. But Pajaarvi was barely on pace to break 40 points in the AHL during the lockout. I'm all for optimism, but sometimes it gets to the point where you're setting yourself up for disappointment. I realize he had 34 pts his rookie year, but he was playing top 6 minutes on one of the worst teams in the league. Think Lee Stempniak's 52 pt year for us, someone has to score the points no matter how bad a team you are. Doesn't mean Lee is a 50 pt player.

MPS career high in a more offensive system is 34 points. He was on pace for 32 points last season in a more offensive system as well.

I do expect him to score more then 13 points though lol. I would guess in the high 20's or mid 30's for points for him.

I could give a range for a player with a 10 point window I think but not close to accurate point totals.

I just looked further at the post your quoted so sorry if I missed the sarcasm lol.

i gave MPS 30 assists and i know that is hopeful, but i figured if you put him on a line with the honda CRV that is berglund and the tank, he will rack up a lot of secondary assists. On this blues team i see lots of secondary assist opportunity

I actually see our defenseman eating up a good majority of the secondary assists. I could see our defense racking up points actually.

I could see both Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk hitting 50 points while J-Bow hitting in the 40's. I really want to see Pietrangelo hit 60 points this season. With a consistent partner I think it's possible. I know we don't have the most offensive system but Yandle hit 59 points in PHX. If Pietrangelo does hit 60 I think he will most likely be out leading scorer unless Stewart finds chemistry with Roy then I could see him hitting over 60 as well.

ha i agree. maybe i saw our defensemen eating up primary assists... doesnt matter... everything is a shot in the dark without knowing PP lines and what not

I came in here to make a post saying basically this. Kind of scary how much I think the same as Bluesman lol
