Silovs looked solid and composed.

Offense is still a major concern. Petey and Boeser need to be much better. Need Lindholm back to stabilize these lines.

Hughes was incredible. Far and away the team's most important player. Just makes the game look so easy when he skates like that.

Loved the effort from Garland and Joshua.

Win is a win, but the third period was not pretty. Coyotes had stretches of dominanting possession and were completely out working the Canucks. First two periods were solid and if they had any sort of finishing ability, the game should have been long over.

Did Mikhayev have knee surgery or use Pearson's hand surgeon

Garland with the dagger against his own team. Oilers won a bunch of these games in their win streak. A win is a win is a win in the end. Hard to see how hard regression is coming back to bite us offensively, but the team is strong enough to keep winning winnable games. Props to them.

I know it's only 2 games, but Silovs looks so stable in net. You can definitely notice the height/size difference between him and DeSmith.
Agreed. Also, he is more of an Ian Clark trained goalie so he plays a style more similar to Demko. The defensive units are more used to playing in front of that style of goaltender

Incoming brain dead Petey takes.

Yes he’s been hot trash the last couple months. The guy is still on pace for 90 points while f***ing around doing jack shit. Gotta relax with the brain dead takes here.
He just got a 100 million dollar + Canadian dollar contract to play hockey. He doesn’t get months off any more without criticism.

Don’t want the criticism don’t ask for the pay cheque. It’s simple. He wants to be the man now own the role.

Holding the Coyotes, who had 19 goals in the past 3 games, to 7 shots after two periods was as good of a defensive effort as you'll see.

The tripping call on Hughes was more moronic game management. Hard reset on NHL officiating is badly needed.

See this is what I'm talking about, with all the "accountability" the refs get from the league that are better kept hush hush, I don't see reffing improving much.

Too bad Dimbo ruined Silovs' shutout.
