Our only untouchables are Kessel, JVR, Phaneuf and Bernier. Kadri and Rielly will only be moved for a top line centre. We're also looking for a top 6 winger and a top 4 d-man. Everyone else is available, including Jake Gardiner and James Reimer.

Both have been traded in these games. Atleast twice in separate games last season.

I wasn't saying they can't be traded (that fun job is on RR and IR's shoulders). Just informing our new to the game GM of their statuses cause I saw Z on his roster/in trade talks.

The St. Louis Blues have made two major transactions.

:blues :habs
In the first move, the St. Louis Blues acquired C Lars Eller, RW Brian Gionta (50% retained), and MTL 3rd in 2014 from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for RW Chris Stewart and C Patrik Berglund.

We're very excited for the leadership and SC experience that Brian Gionta has. He's still scoring and is a great locker room presence. Winning teams need Brian. We're also thrilled to bring back Lars. He was having it rough in Montreal this season, and fills a need for a big, defensively responsible center. We think his game fits very well with Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko.

:blues :flames
In the second move, the St. Louis Blues acquired LW Curtis Glencross from the Calgary Flames in exchange for RW Dmitrij Jaskin and EDM 2nd 2014.

We know we overpaid, we know that Dmitrij is going to be a fine player, and fits into the plans of the Flames very well. But this is a move that we had to make. Curtis is a reliable, tough, scoring LW that is going to be a main fixture on our 2nd line. He's a warrior that's needed on a SC contender.

We're very happy with our moves and are hoping this will bring us closer to a Stanley Cup. We wish Patrik, Chris, and Dmitrij the best of luck with their new teams.

We confirm.

"We are happy to bring a young RW with lots of upside like Dmitrij Jaskin, something we really needed. He's a big body who's very strong with a lot of skills and great hockey sense. He'll fits very well into our future plan. Also happy to bring another 2nd round pick in a Draft we like a lot of players. Good luck to Curtis in St. Louis".

DIRECTION

We want to add players who can impact our lineup right now, so hockey trades are preferable to futures trades. Obviously the big names are not going to be cheap, and are going to be very expensive.

TRADE ANNOUNCEMENT

:blues :flames

The Calgary Flames and the St. Louis Blues have made a minor prospect sawp. The Flames receive defenseman Brett Ponich in exchange of defenseman James Martin.

"Brett Ponich is a kid from Alberta with a great work-ethic, we want to give him a change in our organisation. He's a giant defenseman who's physical, hits and drop the gloves. We have a place for him in Abbotsford (AHL), we'll work with him to try to help him to reach his potential. His work-ethic is a big plus. Good luck to James in the Blues organisation".

Thanks to SLAPSHOT723 for the smooth negotiations.

We are putting Shea Weber on the trade block to see what offers are out there. Not looking to trade him for a package of picks/prospects but in a deal involving a young, impact forward.

David Legwand, Matt Cullen and Paul Gaustad are all available for teams in need of help at center.

MDZ could be moved for a young forward.

Our only true untouchables are Roman Josi, Seth Jones and Pekka Rinne.

:habs confirm. Tough to loose those guys, but Gionta wasn't part of the long term plan, and this trade fills a crying need for size.

Listening to offers on Andrei Markov (can retain salary). Looking for a 1st+prospect, but will consider all offers.

Also shopping Moen, Bourque, Parros, Murray and Bouillon. Our first priority is a young RHD d-man, but we're also interested in picks/prospects.

:avs UPDATE

Several discussions so far regarding Paul Stastny. Nothing appears to be imminent but we won't hesitate to move him if we get an offer we like.

Lot of interest in Nathan MacKinnon but nothing close to be enticing enough at this point.
EDIT 3 : MacKinnon isn't available anymore.

If a team is moving a top 4 defenseman (not a rental) for futures, we could be interested to pay the price.

PM!

EDIT 1 : Just got a very serious offer for O'Reilly that could change our plans...
EDIT 2 : O'Reilly has been traded.

Jake Gardiner is getting lots of interest and might be moved today. Looking for a top 6 forward, and am willing to add if necessary. James Reimer is also available.

Willing to listen on Dave Bolland. Top 9 forward or a prospect could get it done.
