Salary Cap

  • The salary cap maximum from the trade deadline to the entry draft is $64.3M.
  • There will be no salary cap minimum from the trade deadline to the entry draft.
  • Pro-rated cap hits will be moved in trades (use Capgeek's Armchair GM tool).
  • An injured player that is expected to return by the actual NHL trade deadline may be used on your roster.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players at the trade deadline.
  • Teams may have as many players on their playoff roster as they wish.
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2014-2015 season will be $71.1M.
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% during the offseason.
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap by the end of the game.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players by the end of the game.
  • Teams may sign their draft picks to contracts using the ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT CHART
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you’d like to place a player on waivers.
  • Each team has the option of sending ONE player on a 1-way contract to the minors or Europe due to cap reasons.
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of $900k of their cap hit.
  • A player will be on waivers for 24 hours.
  • Waiver priority will be based on the current NHL standings.
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority.
  • Compliance buyouts are permitted during the Free Agency period, dependent on how many buyouts the actual NHL team has used.
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Trades
  • All trades must be sent to IslesRock4 and AnalogMan or else they are not valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. The commissioners hold the power to veto any ridiculous trades.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH trade managers prior to posting. Keep in mind it will only be on a rare occasion that a NTC or NMC is waived.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.
  • Vetoed deals will require a significant re-work in order for them to be accepted.
  • If a player waives his NTC or NMC, the NTC or NMC is still valid with their new team.

We're not looking to make any significant changes to our roster. We're looking to package Bryan Bickell in a deal to acquire a second line center. All prospects and draft picks are available for upgrades.

Very disappointed with the last month of hockey we've seen in Montreal. The team is in a downward spiral and it's time to cut our loses and look to the future. Looking to move basically anyone except for Subban, Galchenyuk and Gallagher. Everyone else can be had but some will be very expensive (Pacioretty, Price, Plekanec ect).

Looking mainly for youth and top prospects (only 1st in the early-mid range)

Everyone else can be discussed. Will likely move 2 of miller moulson and Ott but all are actively available.

In any deal young prospects and nhl ready players are asking price

[fieldset=McKenzie: Viola & Broswad County Impasse Lead To Quebec City Speculation]
bob_mckenzie-218x150.jpg

Issues are arising from last months meeting between Panthers owner Vincent Viola and Broswad County where Viola pushed for a lease renegotiation, an increase in public funding, and more infrastructure around the arena on which to build his casino. Officials from Broswad are growing increasingly irate at what they call a ludicrous and selfish proposal to alter an already favorable agreement.

The Panthers have been hurt financially from a combination of not making the playoffs, low attendance, and the league's lowest average cable television audience (4,000 households). All this combined, equates to the 3rd highest operating losses coming in at $7,700,000 loss per season, ahead of only the Phoenix Coyotes and Minnesota Wild.

What does this mean for the futures of the Panthers? The Panthers have been unable to subsidize Broswad County for building the arena, save for one year of revenue in the past eight. The franchise operating in the red, can only be buoyed by the profits of the arena for so long. Viola has suggested that a lesser league tenant supported by added concert and event dates, would prove to be a more profitable endeavor then operating the franchise at a perpetual loss.

Meanwhile, reports have surfaced that officials representing Viola and Sunrise Sports & Entertainment met with a group representing Quebecor. Both sides declined to comment.

While it's too early to speculate about the relocation, it hasn't stopped rumors that newly appointed Panthers GM Soli McSolison, noted for his past involvement in priming the Coyotes franchise for what looked to be their move to Quebec City before Glendale's 11th hour heroics, has been commissioned by Viola to terraform the franchise for potential sale to Pierre Karl Peladeau and the Quebec City franchise bid.

Take into account the enormous monetary endorsement of the TVA sub-contract on the new Roger's TV deal, the regional proximity of Quebec City that would leave the Atlantic Divison intact, and growing unrest between Viola and Brosward County, and as one league executive said, "I'll let you connect the dots."

For TSN, I'm Bob McKenzie.

We love the team we have but will look to get better if possible and we are willing to move good players and good prospect to do so.

Loui Eriksson is a great player but might not be the fit we thought he would be here. A pair of fowards (center and winger) or a defenceman can be of interest for us.

Chris Kelly is available aswell and Adam McQuaid could be also.

Matt Barkowski, Ryan Spooner and Jordan Caron are young roster players that are available for more experience players. Other names like Khokhlachev, Morrow, Knight notably are available.

Feel free to make offers.

It didn't take GM Soli long to make his mark on the Panthers roster as he shipped Russian defender Dmitry Kulikov to Colorado in exchange for American Olympian Paul Stastny and Colorado's 1st round pick in the 2014 draft.

In a statement made earlier, GM Soli mentioned the collective lack of NHL experience of their Top-6 centers (Barkov and Bjustad have played a combined 95 NHL games) as a bring reason he sought out Paul Stastny. Stastny, who brings over 500 NHL games of experience with him, plays against top competition while providing first line offense and will be a veteran mentor for the Panther's talented young forwards.

In an accompanying minor move, GM Soli sent Rocco Grimaldi to Buffalo in exchange for Brayden McNabb in what was described as a balancing of the prospect cupboard.

The bigger story behind this trade will be evident to Quebec City conspiracists. Paul Stastny was born in Quebec City and his father Peter Stastny spent 11 seasons in Quebec City and is etched in Nordique lore. This move will only louden whispers that this Florida franchise is not long for Sunrise and that GM Soli and management have marching orders to prepare the team for Quebec City's revival.

Looking for a top four defenseman (preferably RHD), a top 6 center and a scoring winger.

Anyone not named Kessel, Rielly and Phaneuf could be discussed however young players such as Kadri and Gardiner will be hard to get.

PM!

:jets are looking to re-tool, we are also sick of not making the playoffs. Rebuild is necessary, but getting some young guys off the team (Trouba, Schefiele, Wheeler, Bogosian, Kane) will be hard to get (Trouba and Scheifele will be impossible to grab).

I expect an major overpayment for Wheeler, Bogosian and Kane.

Everyone else including Byfuglien, Enstrom, Pavelec, Little and Ladd are also available.
