Kovalchuk will have the option of coming off of the voluntary retirement list and signing a contract with the Devils once FA begins (there is no chance all 31 teams approve him becoming a UFA). He could then play for the Devils or be traded to another team after signing; it will ultimately come down to decisions made by the Devils GM and Kovalchuk's agent.

Our offseason wish list includes: a top four right handed PMD, a right shot scoring winger, and/or a third line center.

Picks and prospects are being shopped for roster upgrades. Also shopping Jordan Eberle either in a deal for futures or one of the aforementioned items on our wish list. Benoit Pouliot is also available for anyone who is looking for a lack of production, larger caphit, and enjoys seeing their team down a man at inopportune times.

McDavid, Draisaitl, Larsson, Klefbom, Talbot, Lucic and Pulju are not moving. Others could be discussed but aren't likely to be moved.
