If only you didn't make that trade with Nashville and the Strome trade.

Moulson - Tavares - MacKinnon
Filppula - Getzlaf - Strome
Niederreiter - Nielsen - Okposo
Grabner - Bailey - Martin

Don't how that would work cap wise, but damn.

(these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion)
2013-2014 SALARY CAP: $65,000,000; CAP PAYROLL: $53,704,584;
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $11,295,416

So that's pretty much our final roster. The team is not too far away from competing despite our last season trade deadline blowout. And we've got Phillips, Laughton, Lessio, Drouin, Erne, Jankowski, Gaudreau, Noebels, Horak, Granlund and Reinhart seasoning in the minors/AHL/Europe. We could use a bit more defenseman in the system though...

Anyways, the future looks pretty good in Calgary.

Oh, and by the way, :flames waive Matt Stajan (C) to send him to Abbotsford.

I don't think that works cap wise unless I don't spend anything on defence and goalie. This looks good on paper I guess but too many players put in a position to failed IMO. Lacks defensive players and grit.

Hmmm, 12M$ per seems a lot for a guy who will be the 2nd line center behind Tavares.

Of course it is, but it's how it works in these games. I had the cap space so what the hell...

My ultimate plan was to trade for Weber (still thinks my offer was much better haha) then sign both Getzlaf and Perry (I had money to offer both of them 12 per but my count with Weber) but things did'nt go that way. Still happy with the team, almost done.

Well then you could trade Okposo/Grabner/Bailey/Ullstrom for defensive help instead of crappy forwards. :D

:nashville is pleased to announce Kimmo Timonen signs a 2 year deal with a NMC with a AAV 3.75 million a year

Welcome back to Nashville!!

We're looking to move Dubinsky or Grabner for cheaper but effective 3rd liner

Ya that Getzlaf signing has problems written all over it. Trying to lock up any core players over the next few years will be painful. Cap problems to come.

:leafs I think Saku was talking to me when he meant getting kicked in the balls. This has been a rough FA period for me.

EDIT:Also this years games haven been pretty ridiculous in terms of financial restraint. This is the 1st time someone has gone for more than 9M per (I believe).

Last two years people couldn't give their money away to Parise, Suter, Richards, and Semin fast enough.

The new CBA might be actually worst. We have to follow what is going on in real life too.

Monahan is NHL ready. Move Desharnais to the 1st line and place Monahan on your 2nd (or 3rd line). Problem solved!

Also, take a look at my answer in the FA thread. Boston has 24 hours to match your offersheet for Rask.
