The Washington Capitals announced today that the club has dealt forward Alexander Semin to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Jarret Stoll, Brayden Schenn and Jake Muzzin.

"Alex is a high calibre player, but the chance to acquire more depth was too good to pass up. Jarret gives us a versatile second line centre that can also play the point on the powerplay, Brayden will be in our lineup next season, and Jake is a nice addition to our blueline."

Oduya to the Rangers

The New York Rangers make their first contribution to the NHL deadline with the aquistion of Defenseman Johnny Oduya and Atlanta's Third Round Pick in 2011. Heading back to Atlanta is winger Alexander Frolov and prospect Matt McCue.

We're really happy to add Oduya. We believe he can be a solid contributor during our playoff run, and we look forward to seeing him wear the Blue and Red.​

Kings are willing to trade Ryan Smyth as part of a deal for a defenseman with a similar contract. Keep in mind that Smyth has a NMC and will not waive to a non-playoff team.
