I am 7 episodes in so far. Its a fun cheezie show. My main complaint is that they make the character Ruth far too unlikeable, I am guessing they are building up to something and that will change a little. But her Russian schtick is completely annoying.

My favorite character is the Machu Pichu girl with Brodus Clay & Carlos Colon as her brothers. The actress playing her is doing a really good job at making her a likeable character.

I'm 6 or 7 in. I've kinda crossed over to liking/feeling bad for Ruth, at this point. She's such a train wreck.

While I love Allison, her Russian shtick is already old. She over did it outside the ring.

I hate saying this because it is a female centric show but the male lead absolutely deserves an Emmy for his performance.

Watched the final 3 episode of the show and I m glad they made the Ruth character more of a real person and it finished on a nice note. I am looking forward to the next season.

I was a fan of the original GLOW matches.. I'm about 5 episodes in to the series, it's not bad.

Understood, this is essentially fictional, but I think the original GLOW was filmed in a Vegas casino. I guess setting it in LA is for filming expediency (?) But it's still not an easy recreation, they're utilizing a lot of '8os cars & clothes in the backgrounds, etc. :yo:

I live in Chicago and I loved when they were filming The Untouchables with Kevin Costner here. A couple block area that was roped off was filled with antique cars, it was pretty cool. Saw a guy in makeup that had his face shot up. Didn't look realistic in person but I saw how it could look so on camera.

Wow. Pretty epic movie to come across.

Shouldn't the title be edited to say it is a Netflix show?

Anyway, I finished it and quite enjoyed it!

Yeah you'd hate to derail any actual GLOW conversations going on.

Perhaps someone skimming thinks it is a YouTube show or something else they don't usually use to watch a series and misses out. Sorry for caring for my fellow man.

Anyone watching season 2? I'm on episode 7 and I have to say 30 minutes is just the right length for this show. Episdoes don't drag. Oh and episode 7 also had Betty Gilpin's naughty bits.

Just finished season 2. I think it was even better than the first. REALLY captured the feeling of the 80's, great soundtrack. Can't help feeling that Bash had something going on with Florian and is just trying to hide in the closet.

And thanks to finale, for the first time since 1987, I have Starships "Nothing's gonna stop us now" stuck in my head again.

Yeah, they've set up some good story lines for Season 3.

I'm currently on episode 7, but man...this cast is good in their roles! I would've never thought Marc Maron would be able to do what he does as Sam Sylvia. And Alison Brie & Betty Gilpin are truly great together.

Again, only on episode 7, but it certainly seems like they're building towards a Sam/Ruth thing and...I'm not sure how to feel about that. Like I've been drawn into the friendship side of their relationship (or whatever you wanna call it).

If you go back on youtube and watch some of the original Glow, it was pretty bad, the skits were along the lines of Hee Haw, the wrestling was tremendously bad and matches were a series of punch's kicks and hair pulls. So the 30 minute episode captured that awkwardness really well. In real life GLOW never had that moment where the girls said we really need to push the wrestling and get better at it.

That's pretty much what led Dave McClane to form P.O.W.W. on his own and take the only wrestlers that had any talent like Nina Ferrari (WWF's Ivory) with him.

POWW was much improved in the wrestling department by working with actual wrestling feds like the AWA. They also did away with many of the skits, but kept the cheesy gimmicks and matches.
