I think we should go after Vbrata for the first line and maybe trade ryder and go for hemsky for the second line?? i would like to trade Volch and use the buyout on Sal

i was wondering if we could trade Volch and Ryder for a second line if we took about 15% of the Volch contract
i just curious who the devils could trade him to maybe for PA Parenteau???

I heard a lot of Leaf fans saying Raymond has speed to burn but has no hockey IQ at all and not much finish.

There's a reason why they don't really want him back

I would however go hard after JVR if he is actually available.
Rumour was he was left of list of untouchables in Toronto.

REALISTIC players I'd want on Devils
Hemsky
Camalleri
Package of one of Merril Larsson Gelinas plus matteu or Boucher plus a pick for one of Kane Wheeler Ladd
Yakapov for Larsson
Offer sheet RoR lol
JVR is good but I think he is more of by product of playing on a line with Kessel and Bozak. I think the payment would be an over payment and we prob wouldn't be getting the 30 goal scorer jvr

Replace Hemsky with Vrbata and I'd be happy with that roster. I would even be okay with keeping Ryder (which is probably more realistic than getting two top six forwards in one offseason) and playing him consistently with Elias and Henrique. We know those two have good chemistry, and Ryder needs a playmaker. Which means either Elias or Jagr.

That forward lineup would be more of the same. Moulson and Hemsky are more middle six players that we have plenty of. We need top end talent...which is very tough to get. Stastny, Wheeler...etc. I like your defense however, i'd just try to replace salvador with volch.

If we were going to package Larsson and Matteau to WPG (and it's true that almost their entire roster is up for grabs), I'd try to include next year's #1 and other pieces to bring back Bogosian as well.

Adding Ladd improves our forward group and Bogosian can replace Larsson as a RHD and make for a really solid top pairing with Merrill in the not too distant future.

cant understand how the trade board thinks Baertschi and Larsson have the same value. Sven has done basically nothing. 56 games and like 25 points. Larsson has played over double the NHL games as a defenseman. sigh.

They're pretty close in value. Same draft year, Baertschi drafted nine picks later. Has scored at the professional level.

If Calgary added a 2nd I'd do it.

not really bothered about where he was drafted. he doesnt have close to Larsson's NHL experience and wasnt particularly impressive when he was up imo. dont see the similar value tbh. Calgary has to add alot. probably still wouldnt do it, since thats a weak target if youre gonna move Larsson

Baertschi has scored close to a 0.5 ppg pace in 50 NHL games and has been pretty productive in the AHL. That's solid progression for a 21-year old drafted three years ago.

I don't think Larsson has been particularly impressive in the NHL. Not saying he won't grow into it, but they have similar value. Larsson has the edge due to his name recognition and dominance at 16-17.

Sven Baertschi would be a fantastic addition for NJD, he's exactly what the team needs - a young speedy forward with potential to be a top scorer in the league with more experience. Not the greatest NHL resume yet, but it'll come - he has the skill. I'd give Calgary Larsson for him no problem if that's what they wanted.

No reason to trade Larsson when he's probably at his lowest value.

Unless Lou works some magic and finds an awesome return, I'm pretty sure Larsson will be here.

I would like to see a Merrill-Larsson pairing, I think long term this is a pairing they should be working towards.

Any update on that Jiri guy that's from Jagr's hometown?

It's been dead silent from what I've seen/heard. I've heard something about him having to be signed by the 15th or the team signing him would have financial penalties but I don't know if that's true or if it is exactly what they would be. I couldn't imagine them being much given it would only be an ELC. My hope is that the dead silence means Lou either has him locked up or is closing in on a deal. Shouldn't really be much negotiating necessary due to ELC limits.
