Barzal made a great move pushing the play up the boards, forcing the D to hold or skate backwards. Barzal made the right move with the pass vs trying to skate around the D.

I thought it was a bad pass at first because Seguin and Horvat weren't in the frame and I was expecting Seguin to be all over Horvat immediately. Glad I was wrong and Barzal was right.
