No one cares
Big win for Ducks in OT against SanJose.

Only 5 points ahead of the Ducks and the 30th place now.

Gonna be hard to outsuck the Jackets and Blackhawks, but we're on the right track
Wasn't that last year? Great job @Runner77, lets's hope for more of the same from the PlsBeGon crew because you know, we need to win the lottery. My prediction that Bedard ends up in Arizona got a ringing endorsement from the Spittin chicklets crew this week with Biz going so far to say that Bettman told him so. Arizona needs a savior just as Pittsburgh did in 05, time will tell I guess. Only 12 hours till game time, better get some zzz's in, I don't want to miss a minute of this potential barn burner.

Lines and pairings at practice on Friday:

FORWARDS
Caufield - Suzuki - Dach
Slafkovsky - Dvorak - Anderson
Dadonov - Evans - Armia
Pezzetta - Drouin - Richard/Hoffman

DEFENCEMEN
Edmundson - Savard
Harris - Kovacevic
Xhekaj - Wideman/Barron

Drouin already dropped to 4th center? That's basically a freefall...

It has been blistering though and the youngens are still here going wild and trying to catch the pet chinchillas we got them for Christmas.lol.

Habs coming off a 7-game losing skid, further to their loss to the Rangers on Thursday.

It's the game that practically no one watched as our attention was consumed by the WJC finals. I took a few ganders during WJC intermissions and by comparison, the atmosphere at the Bell Centre felt like a mausoleum. But, that's to be expected given the high stakes of the WJC game.

For some reason, Armia scored. Jackeye managed an assist. And despite a lull in his performance during the last few weeks, Thicc Nick was named as the Habs' rep. to the All Star game, for those who care about such things. He remains a lethal threat that could emerge at any time.

On the bad news front, the Habs officially provided updates on their injured players. Sadly, Guhle will be out for a minimum of 8 weeks. As for Monahan, Matheson and Gallagher, all of them are looking at a 2-week absence.

Gallagher in particular, has been a candidate for breakdowns, given how he continues to play a reckless game, damaging to himself and his team, despite now being 30 years old and taking useless penalties. As one poster put it, he's that broken animatronics life-sized character that you'd typically find at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant that keeps soldiering on despite epic malfunctions and fails.

With the team continuing on its slide and only having the prospect of a better draft pick to look forward to, some fans are becoming bored and impatient and are turning up the heat on Hughes.

Jeff Gorton is not getting spared, even if he was referred to as "Gordin" in one of the forum threads. Fans are looking so deep into the future for any shred of good news they can get their hands on. One of them is what will happen with the Habs' projected cap surplus, once some of this season's deadweight clears the roster:

No need to worry, Gorton has everything under control. As an analytics proponent, he is working on an advanced geometric formula that may just do the trick.

The Blues are in town for this tilt, their only visit at the Bell Centre this season.

We've got a first line that gets keyed on all night because our opponents have no real need to defend hard against anything else, a decent 3rd line in the wrong chairs and two AHL top-6 lines.

We have a top-4 D (Savard), a broken Edmundson, a solid 3rd D pair and an AHL tweener D pair (all on current ability).

Small wonder we continue to be kerb-stomped night after night. I shall blame my dose of 'Flu for making the really tough (lol) decision to avoid watching tonight.

Any GDT featuring the original Batman is an instant hit :)

Amazing as always.....................love your GDT's
Loved the geometry pics!! Plsbegon!!! Seasongon!!!
Your sense of humor is always top shelf!!!
Thx

What a bummer our best winger is missing for 2 weeks.
God help us. When you thought the Ducharme/Bergy era was bad, we will need therapy as a group in a couple more weeks.
The Bergy is era is still here..............it's not going away just yet.
These results are due in large part to the Maestro.

And I thought CC was our best winger....

Team can only focus on themselves and not others to be successful. Last night, they knew it was not a great night for the tank. Hopefully they can regroup, focus on what they can control, and that is themselves, and continuing their losing ways.

The serious answer is that this slump isn't lasting forever. Even the worst teams have stretches of good games, which is fine, provided it evens out over the second half. Habs will win a few, but without Guhle they'll lose more.

They can have some stretches of good games against teams we aren't competing with at the bottom.

seasongon. that's great.

I think we win this one. too many losses in a row, we're due for a win. But look at that d, no number 1 or number 2 d man. We've got a number 3/4 and a bunch of 6/7s. wow.

Remember when Bergevin was going to build through the draft? Good times.
