Draisaitl is being benched tonight which is honestly sad since they won't release him for the WJC either. He needs to be sent back to juniors asap.

The Draisaitl thing makes me the most mad because it was obvious within about 5 games played that he wasn't NHL ready and needed to be sent down. He's now played 33 games and is 7 games away from burning off a year toward UFA. I love him as a prospect but he is being ruined right now. I can't imagine what his confidence is like now since he only plays about 10 minutes a night on a horribly losing team. He's basically the new Yakupov right now which I predicted this summer but of course Oilers fans assured me that their organization never ruins players' development.
