Welcome back to "Who Is That Player?" We're going to go in a slightly different direction today. Not that there aren't some fringy players on the Oilers, but instead let's take a look at the top line. Yes, the most fearsome line in hockey, led by none other than
Warren Foegele.
Yes, you, Warren.
A 6'2 winger from Ontario, Foegele went the Justin Ertel Route™ of briefly attempting an NCAA career before bolting back to the OHL.
Originally a 3rd round pick by Carolina (taken 22 picks after the inimitable Brett Pollock [a star in the Slovakian league!] and 8 picks before the tantalizing Alex Peters [coincidentally still playing for the Oilers' AHL affiliate in Bakersfield]), Foegele saw himself traded to Alberta in exchange for Ethan Bear [no longer in league].
Sporting a career high of 30 points, Foegele quickly found himself in the Oilers' Top 6, for reasons known only to the Oilers. Successive 26 and 28 point campaigns have found him elevated further to the McDrai line. Luckily, points are not what's expected from this "hard-worker" who "brings his lunch pail" each night.
This concludes "Who Is That Player?"
