Wouldn't be surprised if it was Adam Oates...

Sounds like Oates is getting his own thing going with player skills development (go read one of Friedman's recent 30 thoughts articles for details), and isn't interested in coaching a team again.

Probably a good thing if your a Bruins fan.

im glad rask toughed it out today in the most important game of the season. he bailed on finland in a one and done situation, now he bailed on the bruins in the same thing. he hates pressure, playoffs aren't pressure the way today was.

I don't think he bailed but Rask needs some vitamins or a nutritionist. Seems like he's sick to the point of missing games a lot. I would be happy to move on from Rask. I think the defense is the bigger problem but I'm just not a big fan of Rask at 7m. I would love to spend his money on a top 2 defenseman.

As was I ,but even selling Loui wasn't going to help this season, best that could have been done was trading him for assets. If Loui walks it looks bad , but if we traded him for a 2nd and a prospect which was reportedly the going price does make it better ??

I'd be very happy if they had got a 2nd and a prospect for him. I also, think they could have got a first for him.

It's going to be a crazy summer after Claude Julien ends up in Montreal and PK Subban ends up in Boston.

Wings draw Tampa. Yes, that Tampa with no Stamkos, Johnson, or Stralman.

How to absolutely screw up a gift from Heaven, Boston. Incredible.

worst effort and game ever. no excuses. bruins deserved to miss the playoffs. lay eggs when it matters the most. no heart when it counts! WTF? It is shameful to see what this team did on the ice.

Who will take the blame? Heads must roll! Overhaul required!!

This loss isn't on Rask. How is he supposed to play when hes got things coming up from both ends of his body?

He wouldnt of helped anyway. We were atrocious.

Just pathetic isn't it? Unlike last year, Bruins had every single thing break their way and they can't beat a crap canes team and then play a bad Ottawa team at home.

Rangers played scrubs and won.

With the Habs out of the playoffs ( I would be a fan of whoever they were playing ) I probably won't watch a single game. After watching this epic collapse by the Bruins I don't want to watch any hockey until October .

I have been stewing for 8 hours now over the Ottawa game.

I just don't get how they could come out so flat..........again

It reminded me of this fiasco 3 months ago

I have some serious questions about the core of this team .

Seriously. One point vs Carolina and Ottawa at home and two get you in.

Detroit does their best to choke it away, and they can't even be bothered to show up.

I'm sick of the lead by example garbage. I want someone to keep the players accountable. Someone to throw **** and break ****.

Mark Recchi made the too many passengers comment. It's obvious guys like he, ference, boychuk and Thornton were the true leaders of the team.

From the moment I saw Chara swat Gustavsson on the butt, I knew we were doomed. The players looked panicked during the pregame skate. Rask got sick, and it's not his fault. He's got a germ factory known as a toddler running around...and the gastro bug is attracted to the little ones. No surprise if it made the leap to papa Rask. (Or, heck, he could have caught it anywhere.)

But the team needed to pull it together. People here seem to love to hate our post-Rask backup goalies. But Gustavsson has been good. Even this game...yes, he let in four goals. And some of them were softies. But they were 4 goals on 34 shots! That's a heavy load.

The team was caught like a deer in headlights because Rask got sick. In a way, you can't blame the team - 99% of the time, you either know who your goalie is, or you know that it's unknown. They went to bed last night thinking it was Rask, and woke up to Jeremy Smith being escorted by police up I-95.

They needed to be better. All of them. It's one thing for the fans to see Gustavsson and say "Oh, crap. There go our chances." But the players are professionals, and need to learn how to ignore the noise...or even use it as motivation.
