Totally meaningless game against the Devils at the same time as the final round of the Masters. Yeah, I think I'll skip watching this one.

Three years ago, I was in Jersey to see the B's lose the game, but it all worked out b/c they went on to win the Stanley Cup.

Chris Kelly scored in the final few seconds IIRC...good mojo & will take whatever I can get at this point.

Now, we wait to see which opponent awaits in R1. I was a HS senior when the B's last won a President's Trophy, so here a few nuggets from the 1990 Wayback machine:

George HW Bush was prez & Time magazine Man of the Year
Cost of gallon of gas: $1.16
Cost of 1st class stamp: $0.25
Cost of dozen eggs: $1.00
Cost of gallon of milk $2.78
Reds, 49ers, Pistons all won championships (won't talk about Stanley Cup that year)
NCAA champs: Colorado, Ga Tech (football), UNLV (hoops), Wisconsin (hockey)
Hale Irwin won the U.S. Open
Stefan Edberg, Martina Navratilova won Wimbledon
Unbridled won the Kentucky Derby
West Germany won the World Cup of Soccer
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jim Henson died
Best Film (Oscars): Dances With Wolves
Top-5 grossing films: Home Alone, Ghost, Dances With Wolves, Pretty Woman, TMNJT
Top TV shows: Cheers, 60 Minutes, Roseann, A Different World, The Cosby Show
Top Song March 24-April 6- Black Velvet, Alannah Myles
Ray Bourque won the Norris Trophy
Cam Neely named 2nd Team NHL All-Star
Andy Moog & Reggie Lemelin won Jennings Trophy
Bryan Smolinski was Boston's 1st-round pick in 1990
Kirk's HS's Prom song/theme- "When I See You Smile"- Bad English (gag)

Okay that's all I got.

I'm all for an old timers game between the Devils and Bruins. I miss Joe Cirella and Chris Terreri.

Jamie Huscroft can switch jerseys at the middle of the second.

Stamps have doubled, gas has tripled.

Only regulars I'd really want them to play are Smith and Eriksson up front, and then all the young d-men (Hamilton, Bart, Krug, Miller) + Meszaros.

I was in middle school and remember that team well. If it wasn't for the Oilers, we would of had the cup. Saw my first B's game at the Garden that year too, when my Bantam team went down and played a bunch of local Boston clubs[Needham, Dedham and others].

Devils' 1990 1st-rounder: Martin Brodeur (dramatic gopher music)

The only thing I remember about the 1990 draft was crying and breaking into a Pre Nancy Kerrigan 'why me' when some kid from MC got picked by Winnipeg before Boston

So how many players can they leave in Boston? I say use as many non NHL players as you can.

Is Spooner going to be up aswell?
I am guessing

Koko for Krejci
Cunningham for Bergy
Florek for Paille
Linblad for Iginla

Witch leaves
Lucic Soderberg Eriksson
Marchand Campbel Smith
+
Linblad Koko Florek
Caron Cunningham Thornton

Then you take Lucic out for Spooner if he is also up.

No Spooner due to something with the cap.

Makes those couple of no play call ups pretty cool...

I don't care who we ice as long as the players on the ice come back from Jersey healthy.

And given that tomorrow's game changes nothing I want as many regulars out of the line up as possible.

Hope they keep Florek up for Paille instead of using Caron for the play offs.

Time to see what Koko's got! I saw him a few weeks ago and he's improved a ton this season.
