I've had this theory for a little while that in the next 2-3 years as the Capitals go into a rebuilding cycle while Ovechkin is chasing the goals record, they're going to try to maximize his goal scoring opportunities to keep fans in the building and go all-out offensive hockey with no defensive structure at all so their games will all be like 8-5 losses. That usually happens with younger teams with more talent up front than in back. Ottawa or especially Buffalo, are good examples. However, you might be on to something. Don't forget about their trademark scumbag goonery.

Look at the stiffs trying to back into a wildcard spot the past couple weeks. MacClellan is a good GM, but he showed belly there and I thought that was supremely disrespectful to a guy like Ovechkin.
