Every series they would play is probably flip a coin

If you take top 5 F on each team Boston is 5

That’s a concern
Brazeau might just appear to be a 4th line guy but he was really making things happen. They need him back in the playoffs, he could make a difference. He was born for playoff hockey .

Everyone wants to to post the winning %. I would rather use my eyeballs and be more focused on the power play face offs and the PK face offs. And game winning time Face offs.

Our top two guys are garbage when it matters. Let's hope it turns around in the playoffs ,I doubt it.

Our centers cause 90% of the running around that happens during games due to losing key face offs.

He better have a good playoffs or he's dead to me lol

What’s their winning percentage “when it matters”?

I am just saying that I do not think they will go far in the playoffs, just compare our players to Carolina's top players. The Bruins have had a fair few of these stinker games this year and this is not acceptable in the playoffs as you will be behind the eight ball fast.

I hope for the best but if last year's team could not accomplish the ultimate goal and it was much more talented, not looking good.
I tend to agree with this. The Bs are a very well coached structured team, but when it’s time to impose their will on a team and change momentum, they don’t seem to have an extra gear to do it. They don’t dominate when it’s needed the most. On the other hand, teams seem to have stretches where we get easily dominated. Like at the end when other teams need to tie the game. I don’t agree w Brick when he says they have solved closing out games. I think it’s all still there. Also, I do believe the Bs will be the team getting worn down by repetition in a playoff series of seeing the same team. The beauty of a playoff series. You can run a guy through the boards with 10 seconds left and losing by 5, but the hit will be worth it.

Thought that game was gonna get spicy after the first.

B's put their tail between their legs the last 40.

Marchand causing a ruckus then disappearing.

Only guys that showed up was that third line of 74-70-11 & 73
Marchand better be a hell of lot better in the playoffs and not be a side show like he was last night. His entire line was embarrassing

In a 82 game schedule there will be games like last night - given their overall play the last couple of weeks this goes in the crap happens bin to be discarded and forgotten

But .....their habit of playing well then delivering a stink bomb is the formula for losing a a seven game series. Keeping their focus for an entire series is something they need to peove they can do

And to echo several posters above - while overall face-off stats may not look that bad the eye test says that when there is a crucial face-off ( pp, pk, goalie pulled) the success rate feels anemic ...like staying focused, losing key draws is a major warning sign on the road to getting eliminated

First period was electric.

Everything else I refuse to acknowledge/have any recollection of.

We're on to Pitt.

If Charlie Mac plays like last night, wow. Really don’t like the Carlo Grizz pair they look more like 5-6 guys. Also Peeke was great. Skates so well for a big man.

McAvoy is a monster

they get Lohrei going this will be a special D

Peeke on third pair is a big win

Bruins could use Guentzel - they need that guy behind Pastrnak to allow Marchand be third guy

But I’m so impressed by McAvoy

I’m excited for playoffs but I’m excited for offseason to see what happens

Basically I’m just exciteable

Good point forgot about him

I was thinking in first period when the pace was like a playoff game I wish Brazeau was in game to see how he handles the speed

Carolina forwards are quick and experienced and were on everything

I thought whatever was bothering Orlov early he’s over it he looked good

We get goaltending like last evening we won't win a game. Zero margin for error

Charlie McAvoy can't carry the team on his back but what a fing stud this kid is. Most underrated player in the League.

No top defenseman in the NHL has the burden he has.
Bang on my man

He really is

We were sitting at Porters before game discussing the ratings of players in our SIM hockey league and how ridiculous it is Quinn Hughes and even Adam Fox are rated above Mac

Funny we were discussing such a marquee/cult team like Boston could have a guy like McAvoy who’s underrated

Lohrei is that Kluzak talent that Sinden wanted to take burden of Bourque

Hopefully Monty plays him

Bruins D looks pretty intriguing going forward

That's my idea too. Guentzel or another good scorer on the 2nd line. Marchand to the third.

Heinen -- Zacha -- Pasta

Guenztel -- Poitras -- Coyle

Marchand -- Frederic --Geekie

I would like to see:
Frederic -- Zacha -- Pasta
Frederic with 18 goals playing with mix of forward lines
If Montgomery put him with Zacha he would be heading for 30.
Add in bit of security for Zacha and Pasta.
Sorry Heinen’s 16 goals is nothing playing with these guys.
You will all see come playoffs they will get run over.

So was talking to Eric this afternoon we had something like this

Heinen -Zacha - Pastrnak

Marchand - Coyle - $$$$$

Frederic - Poitras - Geekie

Beecher - Boqvist - Brazeau

???? DeBrusk (I want to keep but do they)

Lysell & Merkulov are probably ready

Outside FA ????

Defense seems easy peasy

Lindholm- McAvoy

Lohrei - Carlo

Spoon - Peeke

Do you think Poitras will start in Providence next season?
