Don’t think anyone is under estimating slaf and Suzuki. Both good and will
Be good. But year 3 of their rebuild and they’re still bad. They were bad this year. And if it wasn’t for some good goaltending they would be even worse.

We were also bad year 3 of the rebuild. But then Dorion went out and got Murray stepan gusbrannson dadanov and Josh brown. Essentially throwing away a season AND acquiring assets that he would need to PAY assets to get rid of almost immediately.

We can all look at Habs prospects. But back then we could look at ours as well. And many teams did. And many people on this board did, and drooled.
