Near guarantee that. It's how the league's marquee teams rebuild... just get a bunch of high picks 3-4 years in a row, whether you deserve it or not.
If you happen to be the Sens (or Sabres) you must accept that your only purpose in life is to be the Thompson's Gazelle of the draft lottery, the lowest on the food chain. Do your duty, be canon fodder for teams the NHL likes. Your only role is to surrender draft positions to other teams the league likes better. No issue at all with all this being determined in secret in a back room.

Likely a generational player, based on those skills. His challenge will be to not develop horrible habits, try to do it all himself or get himself killed as the team builds up the team around him. You don't want to kill all that potential with depression.
His biggest challenge will be to improve upon those rather wooden acting skills in his commercials!

Development time can be annoying but it's still this best way to add talent while keeping costs low. Which will be a problem going forward

It's IS a process and that is what should always be followed! Unless you are a contending team that needs that last push to put you over the top, trading a 1st rounder should IMO be last resort. Unfortunately for the Sens this is a process that has been squandered so badly that we have to reset, at least backup the bus somewhat.
