Those fans here who said habs would be out in 4 straight should have their own thread called 'I was wrong, forgive me'. You post your apologies in there, THEN you are allowed back in this thread.
I said Habs in 6......................but I will take 7 no worries.
Huge game folks.........as stated maybe the biggest game in the last 10 years!! Wanna see the guys jumping in the first 5-10 minutes, both teams will want to come out hard, if we match their intensity with ours, and survive those 10 minutes we should be good to go!! I think they feel the pressure, way more than the habs.
We have been fighting for our lives and this is the third time for that!!!

Biggest game in years! So pumped. Enjoy it while it lasts fellas, there will be plenty of time in the offseason to trash management, please don’t do that if they fall behind 0-1 tonight.

My post from the pre-series thread.

I just can't write us off before the series has even started, especially against the Leafs. It's going to be easy to get motivated for these games, and we might finally be relatively healthy for the first time in two months or so.

I don't think this team is as bad as they were down the stretch. Do I think we can get back to the start of the season level? I doubt it. But anything close to that will make for a decent series at least. I don't see us getting steamrolled in 4 or 5 like a lot of people are predicting.

This depends on Ducharme's coaching. Will he play it 100% safe and only dress veterans? Will he make adjustments if that plan completely falls on it's face?

We've surprised before in this spot many times. Ask all those Bruins teams in the 2000's, Washington and Pitt in 2010, and Pittsburgh again last year in the play-ins.

Point is, this is far from a sure thing. Campbell's never played in the playoffs, which is a different animal of pressure from the regular season, and right now all of the pressure is on them to deliver.

Habs in 7.
Still stands. Let's do this.

Woooo! Bring it on!
sweet gdt bro
interesting tidbit:
"Mitch Marner has 12 career PIMS in the playoffs (six minor penalties). Here they are: 2018 Game 2: Puck over glass 2018 Game 6: Puck over glass 2019 Game 5: Puck over glass 2020 Game 4: Tripping 2021 Game 1: Puck over glass 2021 Game 6: Puck over glass "
Thanks. I already had this in an early unfinished stage but rejected it because of the pukey vintage yellow colour background of the cards. I decided to recycle it for this one
So Muzzin is NOT injured after all?
I have no idea...just went with what daily face off posted, if there are updates to the lineup from Twitter I will correct
We have such a weird line-up and I sort of love it. A bunch of misfits. If we win, it makes no sense but that's the beauty of playoff hockey.

Best example of this is the Byron-KK-Anderson line. I look at it and it makes me laugh. It should not work but I like the idea that it does.
In playoff hockey, this kind of quirkiness is what makes successful teams enjoyable to watch

Thanks Ginger, I don't know how you keep finding all these gifs on a regular daily basis but good job!
Excellent GDT my man!
It’s early morning on Game 7 Day. Is it just me or is Nylander’s head the only one that looks truly natural on the bodies you’ve selected. :biglaugh:
:biglaugh:oops I should have made it bigger considering that his head really is twice the size of a normal person

We have the veterans who know how to close this series, no excuses!
Great gdt @Conflicted Habs fan Scarlett never disappoints
Nope, our muse never disappoints! You have only to look at her eyes to see that she promises a WIN!

More awesome goals like this please

What you need to know (Link)
Chiarot on the approach to Game 7 at Scotiabank Arena:
The most fun you're ever going to have playing hockey is a Game 7. The key is you go in and play loose. It's a high-pressure situation. Guys tend to get tight. It's about staying loose, playing the game and enjoying it.
Chiarot on the physicality in the series to date:
That's a big tool that we have in our bag. We're a big and physical team. That's been a storyline in the playoffs forever, wearing down the opponent and playing physical. They're a skilled team, so that's something we have to use to our advantage, playing them hard and playing them physical. Especially our defense, that's the way we're built. We need to play physical and that's what we've been trying to do.
Evans on using his best assets to his advantage:
I know I'm not the most skilled guy and I don't have a great one-timer. I know I probably can't pull a toe-drag off very often, so for me it's just about knowing what I can do to have success and how I can help the team. It's using my speed and just playing hard and playing that gritty way that can frustrate teams and cause them to make poor plays and then try to capitalize. It's just knowing what brings you success. That's helped me out a lot lately.
Ducharme on his confidence level heading into Monday night's tilt:
We're approaching the game like we did the last two. We want to control what we can control. We're confident. We're going to Toronto to head to Winnipeg.
Ducharme on his players handling things well when facing elimination:
We've faced a lot of adversity this year. I've already mentioned that it made our group stronger. I think that's a part of it. The presence of guys like Shea, Corey, Eric Staal and company, along with having Carey in goal, is huge. It's a combination of things. As a group, we're engaged and we're confident in what we're doing. We believe that by doing the right things, the results will come our way.

Ok, I dunno how many of you are superstitious, but I am, going back to my own minor hockey days, I had all kinds of traditions that I still do to this day before covid killed my senior leagues...

1) I never skate (skated) over my own blue line when stepping on the ice.
2) As a center, always end warmup with 2 passes from behind my net to each of my wingers to shoot from the slot.
3) When I used to play goal (and once every month when it is my turn now), last player on my team off the ice during warmup taps each pad and my mask, similar (but different) to Roy.

What I’m getting at is I’ve posted this tribute video in games one and six, which we’ve won, so...

I didn't - I said all along we'd win - but man it looked so bad after game 4 I came close to giving up hope. In past playoffs we always compete hard, yet can't score despite chances. So at least you stay positive and think "if they just keep playing hard, it'll eventually go in". But they were so bad in first 4 games lol, except for Price

I'm so glad they came to compete in game 5, and even moreso in game 6.

We're going to win tonight. Carey Price with the shutout. Habs 3 - Leafs 0
