So being realistic is a bad thing?Right after Lalonde says "pump those breaks", they relapse into 2019-20 play.
Are you going to defend that Larkin, Bertuzzi, Seider, and Raymond are incapable of ever creating a decent scoring chance? Obviously that was more the point of the reply. You mean another bad game. You did watch the shitshow against NJ?
It's def a bummer to see Raymond and Seider struggling, because the only good thing about last season was Raymond and Seider. As a rebuilding team seeing your young players not take the next step, it hurts.
It's still early obviously, but yeah not fun.
MTL - Good GameIt's one bad game, let's get a grip.
Sophomore slumps happen quite frequently. I wouldn't read this much into it. Many new faces + new coach + their lack of experience to adapt to a new system... They'll be just fine. Maybe not this season but for their career. I'm sure they'll be elite players for a long long time. AKA just relaxThe good news is that their contract extensions will come in much lower than expected.
The bad news is that maybe they aren't as good as we thought they were?
It's still early in the year, but 7 games is still 7 games, and neither of them have done anything to be hopeful about a contending team.
MTL - Good Game
NJD- Outplayed heavily outshot even though they won
LAK - OK game
CHI - Outplayed after 1st. wings lose from a 3-1 lead
ANA - Good Game but bad team
NJD2 - Outplayed
BOS - Outplayed
