The Stars have a way better bottom 6. And this is the "good" version of the Avs bottom six. The already sizable gap becomes grand canyon sized when Gork and Dries are playing.

The Stars defense is also much better. On any given night Zadorov, EJ, girard can all play well. They all rarely do that consistently and are otherwise range from pedestrian to pathetic. Even when the Avs D are at the top of their game, Heskainen and Klingberg are the two best defenders on either roster.

Defense, bottom six, and goaltending are on the Stars side. Coaching could improve. But on paper the Avs don't have a good roster.
