How about a small dose of positivity amidst a mire of bad numbers?

During the team's current twenty-two game slump, the d-pairs that they practiced with today have been on the ice for a combined:

19 goals for
6 goals against
------
76% Goals For

Their combined underlying numbers aren't as good, but still a net positive:
53.5% expected Goals For

Forbort could probably use another day of rest. He’s probably been playing hurt ALL season, and that has to be contributing to his play. A healthy Forbort by playoff time could be more valuable than a lot of people think. It doesn’t matter how good or bad your regular season was. of course there’s plenty here that believe he’s never added any value, so…..

Only 6 goals against in 22 games??? Does not sound possible

Lohrei/Carlo and Wotherspoon/Shattenkirk haven't played very many minutes together (74:05 combined total.)
So if each player played together 20 minutes per goal times 22 games, that would be 440 minutes per pair. 6 times less than 74. The actual number for each of these pairs prorated is probably at least one goal per game.

The specific numbers:

Grzelcyk - McAvoy = 12GF 5GA in 236:30
Lohrei - Carlo = 4GF 1GA in 38:40
Wotherspoon - Shattenkirk = 3GF 0GA in 35:25

How long until the lines are scrambled tomorrow? I give it 5 minutes.

Even 5 might be optimistic. It's no wonder this team looks confused sometimes and has some really muddled shifts and occasional too many men scenarios. Zero consistency in the lines, real lack of good chemistry between any particular players, probably except Marchy and Pasta. Oh for the days when we had combos with particular identities and even lines that earned themselves names. Now we just get a blender of revolving talent.
