Tiebreakers - From NHL.com
1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).
2. The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the shootout.
3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.
4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.

Not sure if serious.

Excited about this game, I haven't seen Tampa play at all this year but I'm assuming if we roll the Garbutt-Roussel Fiddler line or Eakin line against the MSL line they should shut them down.

I have never heard of anyone on there bottom three lines in that post. Not saying they are bad or anything, but how are they top 4 in the East? Someone give me a brief scouting report.

Vancouver falls but grabs a point, Phoenix falls.

Need to win this one. Tied with Vancouver on points, but have played three less games. Point up on Phoenix, have a game in hand and ROW tiebreaker.

What I just noticed is... Where is Stamkos? Is he still injured? Did he already play or is he simply scratched at this point if hes not showing up under injuries?

I took one look at TB forward lineup and went:

Who? Who? Who? Who is that? Never heard of him? Who is he?

TB has some great young players lower in their lineup. You'll likely know who they are after tonight.

Tyler Johnson is a strong contender for the Calder. Palat is a guy I'd love to see Dallas get, and Killorn, Namestnikov, and Kucherov are all exciting young guys.

I don't know enough about the team, never really paid to much attention to them in the past, to know if most of this impressive depth came before or after Yzerman. I just know right now they are one of the teams I'm really impressed with. They're winning now, and they look like they're only getting better. What sucks is like Dallas, their D is only OK ... obviously they've got a better piece in Hedman ... but they need D. When they go shopping, they'll be competing with Dallas and driving up the price. They have deeper pockets in assets IMO.

TB fans is probably thinking the same about our team.

We have a lot of old vets that most people would know, Horcoff, Whitney, Cole, Pevs, Fiddler, etc.

It seems like most of their forward roster is second year players that we never saw at all last year.

Is TB a slow team? We tend to do well against those teams.....

Actually from what I've heard from other sources they tend to be more of a speed club that focuses on controlling the game through possession... so kind of like us really.

One thing to point out is that they have their high spot in the standings in large part due to the great goaltending to start the year of Ben Bishop - he was well on his way to a vezina trophy before he got hurt. Tampa Bay is still a team that is very dangerous for Dallas today though, as others have pointed out they probably have the most young talent in the league and they are getting contributions from all of them this year. They do have a couple of high talent forwards out of the lineup, so I hope Dallas can take advantage of them and get the 2 points.

Yeah, the amount of young talent that Tampa has is absurd. It seems like every prospect that they call up starts producing immediately. I'm jealous.

I mean... Ryan Malone has over 600 games in the NHL. Crombeen played for us. Purcell played for the Kings and has 350+ games. Thompson 350+ games. Namestnikov and Kucherov were recent picks from the early rounds and highly touted prospects.

Now if you don't know who JT Brown and Tom Pyatt are I don't think anyone's going to blame you.
