Are the fat girl at prom, that no free agent will dance with.

Willing to shake up the roster with some big trades to finish off our off season.

Agents, I have sent out offers to some more FA's.

If you are the fat girl at prom, that makes the Canucks the guy in the corner who smells like poo.

Still looking to deal Edler, Salo, Demitra and maybe Luongo for upgrades at forward.

Nice to see Turris and his twin both make the team this year.

Demitra, Salo, Edler, Grabner, Hansen, picks, prospects (not Hodgson)

Looking to package these players to pick up legit first line players.

Ugh, just got one a little bit ago to see that Oduya was signed. Boo on being busy and not being able to send in FA offers.

Also, lol Sakic signing with Philly. Despite all of the wacky trades made in these games, Sakic signing with Philly is easily the least-likely thing that has ever happened in an FA game. I'm more likely to sign with the Flyers.

I signed Sakic as Minny to 10M per year in one of the prior games...

Anyways it's time to cut ties with Sakic the player for the Avs. In a full rebuild Sakic will only hurt the teams ability to gain Taylor Hall (not that we're tanking or anything) and it's better to see him go out on top than on the bottom.

Pending Kariya's decision to waive his NTC; The deal has been agreed to send Paul Kariya, prospect Jori Lehtera, and a 2nd round pick in 2010 to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for defensemen Sami Salo.

We'll have more on this story in the morning when we know if Kariya has truly waived his NTC to return him to Vancouver.

Confirmed from Vancouver's standpoint.

This trade helps us replenish our prospect pool, but more importantly gives us a legitimate top 6 forward to replace the loss of the Sedins. Kariya is going from a bad situation in St-Louis, to being given top line minutes along with PP time in his home province.

Vancouver continues rebuild

Avalanche have traded young forward Wojtek Wolski and 2nd round pick in 2010 and a fourth round pick in 2010 for defenceman Alex Edler.

We feel Alex has already hit his potential in becoming a number 2 defender with a booming shot and is more physical than he's given credit for. Wolski sort of hit a stall in his development and with Duchene waiting for his shot we thought Wolski would get a better chance elsewhere. In Vancouver he'll get a shot at being a first or second line centre.

Vancouver confirms. It was very difficult to give up Edler, but in the long run this team feels like it has made the right decision. Wolski has hit a snag in his development, but the Canucks feel that put into the right opportunity he could become a 30-30 player for them next year.

Boston screwed up. I didn't calculate Murray's buyout so Aaron Ward (UFA next summer) is available for a bottom pairing or 7th defenseman making under $1.5 million (preferably under $1 million). Any prospect or draft pick is available to package with Ward to get this done depending on the player coming to Boston.

Drew MacIntyre, Shane Hnidy, and Doug Janik sign 1 year deals for $500,000.

The Bruins will trade Aaron Ward (UFA next summer making $2.5 million this season) and Carl Soderberg, 2010 1st, and/or 2010 2nd for a 2nd/3rd pair defenseman making $2,366,667 million or less.

The Vancouver Canucks have come to terms with unrestricted free agent Jordan Leopold.

Canucks GM stempniaksen was quoted saying the following "After losing the Sedins it would have been easy for us to blow up the team and go for a rebuild, but we felt that we had other pieces in place to get back to the playoffs. We did however, havea strong need for a puckmoving presence in our top four, something that Jordan gives us. We look forward to watching Jordan start the season on our first pairing, and seeing what kind of numbers he can put up when thrust into the role of important player for our team.

Terms of the deal are as follows - Jordan Leopold: 5 years, 12.5 million, 2.5 mill/season

Have Inked (D) Paul Mara to a 2 year deal, worth $2 million.

Paul had a refreshing year where he was one of the Rangers more reliable defenseman.

Chris Pronger - Ryan Whitney
Paul Mara - Ian White
James Wisniewski - Sheldon Brookbanks
