I hate how D on all teams will cross check any opposing player in front of their net and never get called. Nash is right when it comes to players drawing a slashing call when their stick is tapped and they drop it.
Agreed. Add to that the oddity of allowing a boatload of interference when defending a rush (after puck is passed defender), when they claim they want to increase scoring???
Then you have situations like the phantom trip on Hanzal against the Kings - where traditionally you only make a call like that late in a close game if it's blatant.
Just some observations, they have a tough job and mistakes can easily be made, but in the case of the interference - that's most likely a mandate from above.
