I haven't been able to watch many complete games since about mid November, but this is something that "worries" me as well. I know it's premature to talk about how to win in the playoffs but counter-attacking styles never seem to fare well in the postseason. To win in the playoffs you have to be able to establish zone time, wear down the defense, and create a mistake that creates a scoring opportunity. This is my number one reason for supporting Ritchie up into perpetuity and playing with Benn and Seguin. Those three have a presence and are able to cycle and get consistent zone time. It's why Eaves or Sceviour can never be more than a placeholder on that line.
I haven't been particularly impressed with Ritchie on that line, and I think Eaves has looked pretty good out there the past two games. Maybe Benn and Seguin need somebody who isn't fancy to balance their line out.
Why do people think Benn and Seguin and Hemsky and Spezza don't cycle? It seems to me like they are good enough to do it if they want, so they must be choosing not to.
